Ales

A story of warmth, banter, integrity and grace. The Jolly Boys Brewery was established in the snug of a Scarborough pub in 2014. It was more than a distraction, reverie or unobtainable dream.

The four friends realised that this was something they wanted to puruse. They savoured this thinking time and punctuated it with laughter, jocularity, brotherhood and slience – that comfortable silence where you shake your head and smile. And they never want it to end.

The Jolly Boys’ have spent their working lives contributing via their day jobs to the support of others in society. This moral drive is important to them. Couple this with a love of beer, respect for the community and pride doing a good job, the boys made a life-changing decision: they were going to brew beer.

What more honorable and worthwhile calling could there be?

If you’re a landlord, would like to see Jolly Boys in your local, or would like to enquire about getting a cask in your garden bar, get in touch! We’re happy to serve!

Jolly Chinook Blonde Ale (Archived)

The sweet notes from the Caramalt are balanced beautifully with the clean bitterness from the Chinook hop. Sitting somewhere between a blonde and a pale Jolly Chinook has the easy-drinking aspects of a blonde and the citrusy taste of a pale.
Jolly Cascade Blonde (Archived)
4.0% ABV
Malt – Maris Otter Hops – Summit, Cascade. Summit and Cascade are similar in flavour. Summit is a better bittering hop as it imparts a clean bitterness and Cascade is lower in alpha acid and works perfectly as a flavouring and finishing hop. This beer has low levels of bitterness and a pleasant citrusy flavour. It is well balanced between malt and hop and a perfect session beer. A good introduction to real ale. International Bitterness units - 29
La Jolla Blonde (Archived)

The session beer of the USA West Coast trilogy. La Jolla is a romantic beach out San Diego way and this beer we have fallen in love with. Highest quality grain traditionally malted in Yorkshire but carefully hopped with zesty US hops to give a refreshingly blonde beer.
